Null and void (বাতিল, ব্যর্থ) – The law was declared null and void. / This office is open for six months, after which it will become null and void.

No holds barred (কোনো ফাঁক না রেখে) – He kept no holds barred to reach his destination.

Not cricket (অন্যায়) – He was criticized for his not cricket behaviour.

Nine days wonder (অস্থায়ী বিস্ময়ের বস্তু) – The show was a nine-day wonder in the village.

Now or never (হয় এখন, নতুবা আর কখনো না) – Now or never is the night time to marry her. / You should do it now or never.

Idioms and Phrases

Next to impossible (প্রায় অসম্ভব) – It is next to impossible to the govt. to word off corruption. / It is next to impossible for me to help you for the next time.

Nacked eye (খালি চোখে দেখা) – You can not look straight at the sun at noon with naked eye.

Narrow escape (দারুণ বেঁচে যাওয়া) – Yesterday I had a narrow escape from a serious accident. 

Never mind (ঠিক আছে, কিছু মনে করার দরকার নেই) – Never mind, if you can not arrange for the books I had asked for.

Near at hand (হাতের কাছেই) – His final examination is near at hand.

Neck and crop (আপাদমস্তক) – He is on loan to your neck and crop.

Nest egg (হাতের প্যাঁচ) – In order to give proper treatment to his son he had to spend his nest egg.

Next to nothing (বলা বাহুল্য) – His honesty is next to nothing. 

Next to nothing (না বললেও চলে, প্রায় কিছুই নেই এমন) – The man has some money but it is next to nothing. 

Nip in the bud (অঙ্কুরে বিনাশ) – All his hopes were nipped in the bud at his father's death.

Nick of time (ঠিক সময়ে) – He came here in the nick of time.

Nine days wonder (অল্পদিনের আকর্ষণ) – Many scientific inventions have proved just nine a days wonder. 

Nook and corner (পুংখানুপুংখরূপে) – I looked for the missing pen every nook and corner of my room.

Not care a straw (আমল না দেওয়া) – A terroist threatened me but I do not care a straw for that.

No sooner than (যেইমাত্র) – No sooner had he seen me than he ran away.

No longer (আর নয়) – I can no longer wait for him.

Notwithstanding (সত্ত্বেও) – Notwithstanding his illness, he joined the meeting. 

No love lost (মিলে মিশে না থাকা) – There is no love lost between the two brothers.

None de plume (কলমী ছদ্মনাম) – Rabindranath wrote some poems under the none de plume of Vanu Singha Thakur.

No love lost between (শত্রুতা) – Although Mr Sharma and Mr Varma do not quarrel openly there is no love lost between them.

Not fit to hold a candle (নিম্নস্তরের) – Most of the English dramatists are not even fit to hold a candle to Shakespeare. 

Not on your life (মোটেই নয়) – I asked Ashok if he was interested in joining politics and he retorted, "not on your life." 

Not worth his salt (অকাজের লোক) – I had employed him as he had brought good certificates, but I soon found out that he was really not worth his salt.

Now and then (কখনও কখনও) – I don't often fall ill, but now and then I do catch cold.

Now and then – Collins ডিকশনারী অনুসারে Now and then/ Now and again/ Every now and then/ Every now and again সবগুলোর অর্থ হচ্ছে: কখনও কখনও/ মাঝে মাঝে/ Occasionally/ Sometimes/ Irregularly ইত্যাদি।

জেনে রাখুন : কখনো কখনো আপনাকে কনফিউজড করার জন্যে অপশনে Often/ Daily/ Regularly/ Repeatedly/ বারবার ঘটে এমন/ প্রায়/ Frequently/ Always ইত্যাদি থাকতে পারে যেগুলো মূলত Once and againagain এর অর্থ নির্দেশ করে। সুতরাং এ ব্যাপারে লক্ষ্য রাখবেন।

Narrow escape – দূর্ঘটনা থেকে অল্পের জন্যে বেঁচে যাওয়া।

Nip in the bud (Verb) - Destroy in the initial (অঙ্কুরে বিনষ্ট হওয়া), Destroy at the very beginning/ To be stopped in the begging. 

Null and void – Invalid, বাতিল, অকেকো, নষ্ট।

Numbskull – Stupid person, নির্বোধ ব্যক্তি।

Nurse a grudge – মনে মনে শত্রুতা পোষণ করা।
