Paragraph - 167

Character

The character is the crown and glory of human life. It is the sum total of one’s own habits and manners. A man who possesses some good qualities is called a man of character. A man of character is honoured by all and sundry. But a man having no character is disliked by all. “When the weather is lost, nothing is lost; health is lost, something is lost, but the character is lost, everything is lost” -is a widely known proverb. It says that the loss of wealth and health can be regained by dint of labour and by having medicine and treatment respectively. But the loss of character is an irrecoverable loss. This can never be compensated. The human being has character, but the animals have no character. The character distinguishes us from the rest of the creations. The great men of the world had a strong and stainless character. In order to attain humanity and something great in life, we must follow them and be men of character. From time immemorial, none has ever become great and successful in life without having a good character. We, therefore, always should try to develop good character.

Paragraph - 168

Childhood Memories

Sweet are the memories of childhood days. They cheer our heart and make us forget sorrow. So I often look back to my childhood days and try to gather joy from their happy recollection. I was born a Hasan Nagar, a small beautiful village of Kushtia. My family consisted of my parents, myself, my sister, a cousin and my grandmother. My grandmother was very dear to me because she told me nice nursery rhymes and fairy tales. I wandered through the village and played about with my friends. My recollection is of a small park near our primary school where the children of the locality were taken out every afternoon. I became intimate with some I met there and that intimacy continues still. It was there that I first saw a bear and a monkey. I could not forget the very first day at school. When I entered the compound with my father, the school had not begun yet; so the children were enjoying themselves here and there. My mind was troubled with fear that I might not be quite free and easy in their midst. My heart began to beat fast when I was taken to the headmaster. But his smiling face and the gentle world put me at my ease. I was admitted to class two. Really the childhood memories are very charming.

Same paragraph collected from another book

One can hardly forget one’s childhood memories whether pleasant or painful. I can still remember my childhood very much. I was born in a village in the district of Habiganj where I passed my childhood. Many things happened in my childhood days; but I cannot remember all of them. I can remember the happy days with my parents. I often played with my friend, Jony. He was my best friend and companion. Among others, Rony, Sumon, Shohel, Rubel and Masud were also my childhood playmates. They played and behaved with me very nicely. My education began with a picture book. I could not forget the very first day at school which was a better experience to me. My heart began to beat faster when I was taken to the Headmaster. But his smiling face and gentle words endeared him to me. When I remember my childhood, I feel a pulsation of joy in my mind.

Paragraph - 169

College Hostel

A college hostel is a part and parcel of a college. Generally, a college hostel is seen within the college campus or near the college so that the students may attend the classes on time. It is a matter of regret that all of our colleges do not have any hostel. For this reason, the students have to carry on their studies overcoming various problems. The students who come to the college from far away have to face accommodation problem. Again the colleges that have hostels are not sufficient for the students or in bad condition. Most of the college hostels in our country are semi-pucca building that has so many problems. Some renowned college has well-furnished hostels that have modern facilities. Most of the college hostels are now maintained by some student leaders. So very few hostels have the proper environment for study. If the college hostels have proper facilities it is the best place for a student to study. So, in every college, a hostel with proper facilities and proper environment to study is essential.
