Main idea : Charity or kindness to others is a quality be broadened and open to all humanity. Its cultivation should be practised at home to flourish.
Amplification : Charity is a great virtue. It can be garded as the crown of all other virtues in life. Charity means the disposition to think favorably to others. It also means sympathy to others. Home is the great source of imbibing charity among the children. Parents, brothers, sisters and other relatives exert a great role in shaping the character of a growing child. They should create favorable and kind atmosphere for the smooth growth of a child. If a child learns morality and kindness in his early life, he will show these to others in future. He will be kind, humane, Sympathetic and co-operative. He will cry for others. He will extend his helping hands to the poor, down- trodden and helpless. He works for humanity. Both family members and neighours will be highly benefitted by him. Thus, we should grow fellow- feelings and sympathy for others. We should try to lessen the sufferings of humanity. In that case, our world will be an above of heavenly bliss and prosperity. Thus, man's sense of helping others should be cultivated at home. Teachings at home will betoken the world of kindness for humanity.
বঙ্গানুবাদ
মূলত : অপরের প্রতি দানশীলতা বা দয়া সীমাবদ্ধ হওয়া নয়, এটি সকল মানবজাতির প্রতি বিস্তৃত ও উন্মুক্ত হওয়া উচিত।
ভাব সম্প্রসারণ : দানশীলতা একটি মহান গুণ। এটি জীবনে অন্য সকল ছাদের মুকুট হিসেবে বিবেচনা করা যেতে পারে। দানশীলতা অর্থ অপরের প্রতি অনুকূল ভাবার মেজাজ। এটির অর্থ অপরের প্রতি সহানুভূতিও। গৃহ হচ্ছে শিশুদের মধ্যে দানশীলতার ধারণা গ্রহণ করার বড়ো উৎস। বাড়ন্ত শিশুদের চরিত্র গঠনে পিতামাতা, ভাই, বোন ও অন্যান্য আত্মীয়- সজন বড়ো ভূমিকা পালনে উদ্যোগী হয়। একটি শিশুর সুষ্ঠুভাবে গড়ে উঠার জন্য তাদের অনুকূল ও সদয় পরিবেশ সৃষ্টি করা উচিত। যদি একটি শিশু তার বাল্যজীবনে নৈতিকতা ও দয়া শিক্ষা গ্রহণ করে, তাহলে সে ভবিষ্যতে অন্যদের প্রতি এগুলো প্রদর্শন করবে। সে দয়ালু, মানবিক, সহানুভূতিশীল ও সহযোগিতামূলক হবে। সে অপরের জন্য ক্রন্দন করবে। সে দরিদ্র, উৎপীড়িত ও অসহায়দের প্রতি তার সহযোগিতার হাত প্রসারিত করবে। সে মানবতার জন্য কাজ করে। তার পরিবারের সদস্য ও প্রতিবেশীরা উভয়ই তার দ্বারা অত্যধিক পরিমাণে উপকৃত হবে। এভাবে আমাদের উচিত অপরের জন্য সহানুভূতি ও সমবেদনা বৃদ্ধি করা। আমাদের মনুষ্যজাতির দুঃখকষ্ট কমানোর চেষ্টা করা উচিত। সেক্ষেত্রে আমাদের পৃথিবী স্বর্গীয় সুখ ও সমৃদ্ধির উপরে অবস্থান করবে। এভাবে অন্যের সাহায্যের জন্য মানুষের বোধ গৃহে অনুশীলিত হওয়া উচিত। মানবজাতির জন্য দয়ার গৃহের শিক্ষা বিশ্ব অবলম্বন করবে।

The proverb charity begins at home is very true. The best way to demonstrate this is through sharing. When each member of a family shares his/her belongings with other members in the family, he/she learns the concept of giving to others. In this way, he/she will also be ready to give a helping hand to the poor whenever needed.
Similarly, if we learn to care for family members at home, we will naturally learn to show concern for people in need outside our need.
