Under the greenwood tree
Who loves to lie with me,

The Theme : The poem deals with the ‘supremacy of forest life over city life’. The poet invites pleasure seekers and ambitionless people to leave the city life and come to the forest to live in the lap of nature. The poet suggests that forest life is carefree and free from all sorts of enemy except winter and rough weather.
