The One Who Brought Me Down in Earth

The one who brought me down to earth
And held me every day.
The one who gracefully gave me birth.
And said, I love you in every way
And said, I love you in every way
The one who taught me everything.
Like how to crawl and walk.
The one who taught me how to sing.
After learning how to talk.
The one who taught me how to read,
And how to do math.
The one who taught me how to bead
And told me to take a bath.
The one who lectured, school before men
And to love one another,
Believe me that this woman
Can be no one but my mother!
যিনি আমায় নিয়ে এলেন এই পৃথিবীর পরে
বুকের মাঝে আগলে রাখেন নিত্যদিনের তরে
আমায় যিনি জন্ম দিলেন অনুগ্রহ-ভরে
বলেন তোকে ভালোবাসি হৃদয় উজাড় করে।
সবই আমার শিখিয়েছিলেন লাগবে যখন যা
হামাহুড়ি দেয়া থেকে হাঁটি হাঁটি পা।
শিখিয়েছিলেন কেমন করে গাইতে হবে গান
তারও আগে যেমন করে হাঁটতে শেখান।
তিনি তো সে-ই যার কাছে মোর পড়ার হাতেখড়ি
আরো শেখা যোগ-বিয়োগ আর গণিত কড়াকড়ি।
যিনি আমার দীক্ষা দিলেন চাইতে খোদার কাছে
গোসল করার তাগিদও দেন ভুল হয়ে যায় পাছে।
বিদ্যালয়ে যাবার আগেই তার কথাতেই পাই
সকলেরে বাসব ভালো আমরা যে সদাই।
এমন নারী ত্রিভুবনে আর তো পাবে না
সেই তো এমন মহীয়সী সেই তো আমার মা।
The Theme : There is no word sweeter than the name of mother. Utterance of the world ‘mother’ makes all human being so passionate and hearty as ever. Because a mother gracefully gives birth to her children and brings them up. She also teachers them how to do everything. So we should be grateful to our mother and love and respect her cordially.
(‘মা’ এর চেয়ে মিষ্টি শব্দ আর নেই। মা ডাক সকল মানুষকেই করে অত্যন্ত আবেগাপ্লুত ও উৎফুল্ল। কারণ মা মমতায় শিশুদের প্রসব করেন আর তাদের লালন-পালন করেন। কীভাবে সবকিছু করতে হয় তাও শিক্ষা দেন তিনি। সুতরাং আমাদের উচিত আমাদের মায়ের প্রতি কৃতজ্ঞ থাকা, তাঁকে আন্তরিকভাবে ভালবাসা ও শ্রদ্ধা করা।)
