Lockdown

A lockdown is generally implemented by the government to prevent people from leaving an area. It is a preventive action plan to ensure safety of people and systems during an epidemic or disaster.

The COVID-19 has forced many nations to implement a lockdown as there is no drug or vaccine for this disease.

People are allowed to go out of the house only for groceries, medical consultation or some emergency situation. Any functions like birthday parties or marriage functions (involving huge crowds) are not allowed during lockdown.

What is not allowed :
  1. Public transport
  2. Schools, colleges, offices, shopping malls, cinema halls and various shops.
  3. Railway, domestic and International flight services.

What is allowed :
  1. Hospitals
  2. Financial transactions in banks.
  3. Grocery stores and chemist shops.
  4. Petrol pumps, electricity department, water board.
  5. Internet and telecom services.
  6. Agricultural activities.

Although the lockdown has been implemented to prevent the spread of COVID-19, it has made a negative impact on the economy of the world.

Agriculture, education, entertainment and many many other industries are facing loss during this lockdown. Many poor people are finding it difficult to earn their daily bread because of lack of employment.

The one positive thing that happened during the lockdown is that the nature is benefited. The air pollution has reduced remarkably. Many rivers have become clean. Animals are now wandering everywhere freely.

Many scientists are working on the development of drugs and vaccines for this disease. It is necessary that all of us follow the lockdown rules to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Our combined efforts will help us to eradicate the disease.
