Paragraph : Robot

Robot

A robot is an automatically operated machine that can replace human effort, though it may not resemble human beings in appearance or perform functions in a humanlike manner. The team is derived from the Czech word robot, meaning 'forced labour'. Modern use of them comes from a play named R.U.R, written in 1920 by the Czech author Karel Capek. In the play, society is depicted as having become dependent on mechanical workers called robots that are capable of doing any kind of mental or physical work. Modern robot devices have been developed in two distinct ways. One of them is the development of Mechanical toys and the second one is the successive innovations and refinements introduced in the development of industrial machinery. Most probably the earliest ancestor of today's industrial robot devices is the clepsydra or water clock. It is said that Ctesibius of Alexandria, a Greek physicist and inventor, constructed such a clock about 250 BC. After that industrial Revolution robot mechanisms saw much development and now much sophisticated industrial production processes are run by robot technology controlled by computer systems.
