Our School
I am a student of Pogose School, Dhaka. It is one of the oldest and famous schools of Bangladesh. It was founded in 1848 by N.P. Pogose. An Armenian gentleman.
The school is located in the heart of old Dhaka. Bahadur Shah Park is situated to the east of the school. Jagannath University Collage is adjacent to the school. The Buriganga is five minutes’ walk from the school.
The school is a two-storied building. There are thirty class-rooms. The rooms are spacious and airy. There are sections in all the classes. The School sits in two shifts – morning shift and day shift. There are about 1500 students and 35 teachers in our school.
The Hea dmaster is an M.A., B.Ed. He is an able administrator. The school sits at 10 a. m. and breaks up at 4-30 p.m. There are the Headmaster’s room, teachers’ common room, the office room, the library room, the prayer room and the hall room besides the class rooms.
The students of our school have always been good. The examiners score brilliant result at the S.S.C. Examination every year. A good number of boys of this school achieve Primary and Junior Scholarship every year.
A very big field lies inside the school. We play football, cricket, hockey, basketball, volley ball and other games there after school hours. Our school library contains many useful books on different subjects. Students are allowed to borrow books once a week.
The school holds annual sports, the prize giving ceremony and the annual Milad. In the hall we hold meetings, stage dramas and observe the birth and death anniversaries of great men.
Ours is one of the leading schools in the country. It has been the training ground eminent men. I am proud of being a student of such an esteemed (সম্বানীয়) institution.

The name of our school is Banglabazar Govt. Girls’ High School. The school is situated at a suitable place in old Dhaka. It was established in 1951. It is a renowned school. Its site is both beautiful and healthy. It is a three-storeyed building that faces the west.
There are twenty classrooms and one hall-room in it. There is another building that faces the north where the teachers’ common room, office room, Headmistress’ room are situated on the ground floor. 1st floor and 2nd floor of this building are used as laboratory and science activities.
Our school is two-shifted. There are morning and day shifts. The morning shift starts at 7:30 am and breaks at 11:45 am. The day shift starts at 12 am and breaks at 4:30 pm.
There are 1,600 students in both shifts. There are 50 teachers, two assistant Headmistresses and one Headmistress and 15 other office staffs in our school.
Our school has a rich library, a good play-ground and also a gymnasium. Our physical instructor trains us in various games and sports.
Our teachers are kind and sympathetic to use. They take special care of us. So, the school makes satisfactory result every year.
Our school also publishes school magazine every year. Ours is a good school. We are proud of it and always try to add to its prestige.
