Ode to Autumn
John Keats
Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness,
Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun;
Conspiring with him how to load and bless
With fruit the vines that round the thatch-eves run;
To bend with apples the mossed cottage-trees,
And fill and fruit with ripeness to the core;
To swell the gourd, and plump the hazel shells
With a sweet Kernel; to set budding more,
And still more, later flowers for the bees,
Until they think warm days will never cease,
For summer has over-brimmed their clammy cells.
কুয়াশা মোড়ানো ঋতু মিষ্টি আমেজ,
যাচে সদা বন্ধু-সখা সূর্যের তেজ;
কেমন করে ফলফসলে ভরবে গোলাঘর
ঘরের চালে লতিয়ে উঠা আঙুর লতার ঝাড়;
আপেলভরে নুইয়ে পড়া শীর্ণ গাছের শোভা;
আর ভেতর থেকে পোক্ত হওয়া নবীন ফলের আভা;
ভাগর হবে লাউ আচানক খসবে বাকল খোসা
সৌরভে তার মঞ্জরিত নতুন দিনের আশা,
থাকবে আরো ফুলের তরে মৌমাছিদের গান,
তবে উষ্ণতার এই দিনগুলো সব অসীম অফুরান
ঘরে আর্দ্র হয়ে উপচে পড়ে উষ্ণতা অম্লান
The Theme : The poem describes three different aspects of the season; its fruitfulness, its labour and its ultimate decline. Parallel to this, the poet depicts the day turning from morning to afternoon and into dusk. These progressions and joined with a shift from the tactile sense to that of sight and then of sound, creating a tree-part symmetry. Similarly, in human life, death is slowly approaching alongside the end of the year.
(কবিতাটি ঋতুর তিনটি ভিন্ন দিক বর্ণনা/চিত্রিত করছে; এর কার্যকারিতা, এর শ্রম ও এর অনিবার্য ক্ষয়প্রাপ্তি/বিলোপসাধন। তদ্রুপ, কবি দিবসের সকল থেকে দুপুরে এবং সন্ধ্যায় পদার্পণকে বর্ণনা/চিত্রিত করেছেন। এই অগ্রসরতাগুলোর সাথে যুক্ত হয়েছে ম্পর্শানুভূতি, দর্শণাভূতি ও শ্রবণানুভূতির উন্মেষ যা সৃষ্টি করেছে এ তিন অংশের ভারসাম্য। অনুরূপভাবে, মানব জীবনে বছর অন্তে দীর পদক্ষেপে মৃত্যু নিকটবর্তী হয়।)
