উদাহরণ :

Comparative : Rahim is taller than Shami.
Positive : Shami is not as tall as Rahim.

Comparative : Dhaka is bigger than Rajshahi.
Positive : Rajshahi is not as big as Dhaka.

Comparative : Dhaka is not bigger than Calcutta.
Positive : Calcutta is as / so big as Dhaka.

Comparative : Mim is wiser than Fathema.
Positive : Fathema is not as wise as Mim.

Comparative : Nusrat is not more beautiful than Faraisa.
Positive : Faraisa is as beautiful as Nusrat.

Comparative : She is more intelligent than her brother.
Positive : Her brother is not as intelligent as she.

Comparative : Jamil is stronger than Hasan.
Positive : Hasan is not as strong as Jamil.

Comparative : A plane flies faster than a bird.
Positive : A bird does not fly as / so fast as a plane.

Comparative : Tomatoes are cheaper than oranges.
Positive : Oranges are not so / as cheap as tomatoes.

Comparative : She is less stupid than her husband.
Positive : Her husband is not as / so stupid as she.


than any other / than all other যুক্ত Comparative Degree কে Positive Degree করার নিয়মাবলী :

(i) No other বসে।
(ii) any other / all other উঠে যায় এবং এর পরের noun টির singular form বসে + বাকি অংশ বসে।
(iii) verb (singular) টি বসে।
(iv) so / as + comparative degree এর positive form + as বসে।
(v) comparative degree যুক্ত sentence এর subject টি বসে।

উদাহরণ :

Comparative : Rumi is greater than any other girl in the orphanage.
Positive : No other girl in the orphanage is as / so great as Rumi.

Comparative : Dhaka is larger than all other cities in Bangladesh.
Positive : No other cities in Bangladesh are as / so large as Dhaka.

Comparative : Sazzad is taller than any other boy in the College.
Positive : No other boy in the college is as tall as Sazzad.

Comparative : Summer is drier than any other season in Bangladesh.
Positive : No other season in Bangladesh is as dry as Summer.

Comparative : This is safer than any other place.
Positive : No other place is as safe as this.

Comparative : Milk is more nutritious than any other food.
Positive : No other food is as / so nutritious as milk.

Comparative : Time is more useful than all other things.
Positive : No other things are as useful as time.

Comparative : He is better than all other boys.
Positive : No other boy is as good as he.


than most / few / many other যুক্ত Comparative Degree কে Positive Degree করার নিয়মাবলী :

(i) Very few বসে।
(ii) than most / many / few other উঠে যায় এবং এর পরের noun টি বসে
(iii) verb (plural) টি বসে।
(iv) so / as + comparative degree এর positive form + as বসে।
(v) comparative degree যুক্ত sentence এর subject টি বসে।

উদাহরণ :

Comparative : The cow is more useful than most other animals.
Positive : Very few animals are as useful as the cow.

Comparative : A.K. Fazlul Haque was greater than most other politicians in Bangladesh.
Positive : Very few politicians in Bangladesh were as great as A.K. Fazlul Haque.

Comparative : Bangladesh is more fertile than most other lands of the world.
Positive : Very few lands of the world are as fertile as Bangladesh.

Comparative : Sanzida is more beautiful than most other girls.
Positive : Very few girls are as beautiful as Sanzida.

Comparative : Naogaon is bigger than most other districts in Rajshahi.
Positive : Very few districts in Rajshahi are as big as Naogaon.

Comparative : He is better than most other boys.
Positive : Very few boys are as good as he.


No less __ than / Not less __ than যুক্ত Comparative Degree কে Positive Degree করার নিয়মাবলী :

(i) Subject + Verb বসে
(ii) than তুলে দিয়ে এর পরিবর্তে as বসে।
(iii) comparative এর positive form + as বসে।
(iv) than এর পরবর্তী অংশ বসে।

উদাহরণ :

Comparative : He is no less strong than you
Positive : He is as strong as you.

Comparative : Jim and Della were not less wise than the Magi.
Positive : Jim and Della were as wise as the Magi.

Comparative : Nipha is no less clever than Amina.
Positive : Nipha is as clever as Amina.

Comparative : Lata is not less tall than Shima.
Positive : Lata is as tall as Shima.
