110th ANNIVERSARY OF JASHIMUDDIN’S BIRTH TODAY
Rubina Haider, FARIDPUR, January 1 : The 110th birth
anniversary of poet Jashimuddin, known as Polli Kabi, will be observed today
(wednesday), the first day of the New Year.
Different soci-cultural and political organisations have chalked out
elaborate programmes to observe the day in a befitting manner.
In Faridpur, the home district of the late poet, the Jashim Foundation have
drawn up a number of programmes including Milad Mahfil, offering fateha,
placing floral wreaths at the tomb of the poet at Gabindapur in the
outskirts of the town.
A discussion meeting on the life and literary works of the poet will also be
held on the occasion.
