Politeness

There are various noble qualities which separate a good man from a bad man and politeness is one of such qualities. It is a great virtue. It is a mark of discipline. To be polite in one’s behaviour costs him nothing. Rather it brings many benefits. It will indicate that he is a well-bred man and no one will find any reason to hate him. People will love and respect him. A polite man must be above all meanness. He will be refined in manners, tolerant in views and supportive of the truth. He will never offend others. Rude behaviour is totally unknown to him. He must respect his parents, teachers, and others. Hypocrisy, cruelty, jealousy, and falsehood all are avoided by a polite man. Actually, politeness is a spontaneous trait. It can never be artificial. It is ever unchangeable under any circumstances. Politeness is essential in all walks of life. In short, a polite man is an ideal of humanity.

Pleasures of Reading

Some people get pleasure in reading books. Reading is a good habit. Pleasures of reading are different from the pleasures of hearing songs, or playing games or of travelling. Pleasures of reading ennoble the mind. Books are man’s best companions. Friends may leave us, but never books. Books teach us many things. It teaches us how to behave well with others. It also gives knowledge about morality, honesty, hardship, about the dignity of labour, punctuality etc. Through books, we can travel almost all over the world. We can visit many unseen places and can know many unknown things. Through reading, we can enjoy and pass our time fruitfully. Books make us laugh. When we read a book of amusement, our heart becomes amused. When we read a painful book, we become shocked. It makes us cry. It gives us relief for a while from our monotonous life. All of us should keep us the habit of reading for pleasure.

Private Clinic

Private clinics are private hospitals which are more expensive than government hospitals. Now Private clinics are seen everywhere. A private clinic provides better treatment and service than a government hospital. In a private clinic, a patient is treated in a homely atmosphere. Nowadays a person who has the ability to get treatment from a private clinic seldom goes to government hospitals. Most of the famous doctors' practice in renowned private clinics where they are paid better. Though a private clinic provides better treatment, it is very expensive. All of us do not have the ability to get treatment in a private clinic. Only those who are rich have the ability to get treatment in a private clinic. Among the five basic needs treatment is one but all the people of our country are not getting it properly in the government hospitals. Most of the doctors neglecting their duties in government hospitals are practising in private clinics. The government should take proper steps to give more facilities and proper treatment in the government hospitals.

Pahela Baishakh

Pahela Baishakh is a part and parcel of Bengali culture. It is the first day of Bengali Calendar year. Our people observe this day with great festivities. The Baishakhi Mela which is celebrated this day is perhaps the largest festival of Bengali culture. People from all walks of life join this festival in a joyous mood. Urban people try to keep a while away from their blind mimicry of western culture and tend to be a Bengali at least this day. In villages people pass the day meeting one another, giving and receiving invitations, enjoying music etc. by local performers and doing many other festive deeds. Businessmen open new books of account this very day which is known as Halkhata. Thus Pahela Baishakh comes every year with great joy and delight.

Poverty Alleviation

Poverty alleviation is now a burning question all over the world. The statistical report says that nearly eighty percent of people live in the vicious cycle of poverty in Bangladesh. Along with them are the slum-dwellers living in the major cities of the country. With the passage of time, the poor become poorer. The government has taken steps to alleviate poverty. But the outcome is as it is where it was. In fact, nothing has succeeded in alleviating poverty. Actually, the government should take up a master plan to alleviate poverty. Poverty to the poor is a great bane. The society should come forward and work hand in hand with the government in this behalf. A huge project should be chalked out to uproot poverty from the society. Though it may seem to be tough apparently, an integrated plan will see a comfortable solution. Sincerity from all walks of life is to be ensured. Otherwise, it will be a futile step to move for poverty alleviation.
