I think garments industry is the most important industry in this country. Its role in the economic development and reducing unemployment is immense. This industry has a great impact on our society. Thousands of poor girls work in garments industry who were previously unemployed or worked as housemaids. These girls have become involved in the greater economy of the garment sector have special importance for the whole economy of the country. Bangladesh is a small country with a huge population. The small cultivable land, which is continuously dwindling, cannot provide employment for the increasing number of people. As a result, labour-intensive industries like garments industry have become essential for this country.
